By Paolo Frosini 7 years ago

The air quality monitoring Sentinel-5P satellite is set for launch from Russia on 13 October at 09:27 GMT (11:27 CEST). Follow the launch via live webstream.

AURORA partners have been involved in this historic moment. The Royal Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy (BIRA-IASB) takes part in the operational data production and validation for the TROPOMI instrument onboard the Sentinel-5P mission. Scientist Arno Keppens is responsible for the quarterly reporting on TROPOMI’s atmospheric data quality within the Validation Data Analysis Facility (VDAF), which is hosted at BIRA-IASB and part of the Mission Performance Center (MPC). He is also deputy lead of the CHEOPS-5P project (for Validation of Copernicus HEight-resolved Ozone data Products from Sentinel-5P TROPOMI using global sonde and lidar networks) that contributes to the ESA S5P validation team (S5PVT).
